Excerpts from an interview that appeared in YOGASTUDIO Mill Valley's The Prana newsletter, February 2003.

After ten years of yoga what keeps you interested and inspired?

The poses are still really fun and interesting and the longer I do yoga the more my body continues to strengthen and open and find more challenging places to be.

But that's really not where the real excitement and continued interest comes from. It's implementing yoga as a tool for self-transformation and personal growth that keeps me forever discovering something new.

If it were really just about the poses themselves I do think it would get boring because in the end what does an asana really do for a person? Sure it makes you more flexible or stronger but what about the rest of your life? Are you learning and growing as a person? Are you getting better at your relationships? Are you making a positive difference in someone else's life or the world? Are you unconsciously repeating the same old patterns of behavior or are you starting to peel away the layers and discover your own unlimited potential?

It's these very questions that yoga has inspired me to ask.
